Job Summary
First Line Management of the Inbound Planning functions of the Inventory Team, supporting the delivery of operational plans by ensuring stock is positioned ‘right place, right time’, and continual improvement focuses to support the wider Logistics functions.
What will your role involve
- Weekly 1-2-1 with direct reports, encouraging positive feedback loops and championing PDPs.
- Seeking learning and development opportunities for self and reports.
- Responsible for stock positioning to support New Releases, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) team plans.
- Ensuring inbound shipments are planned according to S&OP plans.
- Scheduling of inbound shipments that sit outside the scope of the S&OP plans.
- Informing the S&OP team of significant / noteworthy shipments to enable pro-active planning.
- Relay clear and actionable plans to warehouse colleagues to support inbound receipts and processing.
- Define every product receipt with a material flow plan.
- Supporting adherence to the strategic operational plans.
- Weekly review of inbound pipeline with Inbound Logistics Manager to highlight any bottlenecks for processing and storage space.
- Delivery of stock and invoice queries in line with agreed timeframes. Analysis of root cause trends and resolution.
- Resolution and reduction of GRN errors.
- Responsible for raising POs for storage and inter-warehouse transfers and forecasting the spend for each quarter to inform FP&A budgets.
- Accountable for ASN accuracy to enable accurate reporting of inbound dates across the business.
What do you bring
- Demonstrable people management experience within logistics teams.
- 2 years’ experience managing stock within an ERP (eg; SAP, Oracle, Netsuite, Sage) with a WMS supporting warehouse activity.
- Familiar with data analytics and report development.
- Proactive approach to self-development and willingness to learn new skillsets and tools. Inspiring this mindset in the team.
- Relentless drive to maintaining operational plans.
- Contribute to the resilience to change within the Inventory team.
- Navigating a careful balance of control and change, ensuring processes are adhered to while not allowing them to impede operational needs.
- Innately familiar with stock management, freight forwarding and logistics.
- FMCG experience preferable.
- Naturally inquisitive.
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking the lead.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Team Player.
