Job Summary

The SVP of Publishing Operations serves as a critical leader within the Global Publishing division, ensuring operational excellence and value creation. This role is uniquely positioned to drive, challenge and collaborate with financial, Talent Management, IT and Legal counterparts across the organization, requiring the most value from local teams, ensuring accountability and alignment with the company's Publishing strategy. Acting as a true business partner to functional leads, key Route to Market leaders, and Studio/Playtype P&L owners, the SVP drives strategic and operational success through data-driven decision-making, cohesive teamwork, and an unwavering focus on quality and efficiency.

What does this role Involve

  1.    Support Functions Oversight and Operational Coordination:
  • Oversee support functions (Finance, HR, Legal, Data and Systems) ensuring they act as proactive business partners to serve the Global Publishing teams. Act as a liaison between the team and senior leadership, ensuring alignment with business line goals as well as Group operational and financial goals.
  • Focus on change management of the support functions. Ensure support teams align business needs, strategy and processes, metrics and consistency between the support functions specifically tailored to the Global Publishing business. Provide clear direction, coaching, and support to team members to achieve individual and collective goals.
  • Take ownership of systems and data oversight, ensuring the effective integration, utilization, and innovation of tools, systems, and data platforms. Build frameworks to enable strategic decision-making and operational excellence through high-quality, synchronized, and actionable data.
  • Implement strategies to harmonize tools, processes, and data management systems across functions, driving efficiency, consistency, and scalability within the organization.
  • Work closely with the Global Publishing leadership team taking their direction and insights. Serve as the control tower for multiple transformation, strategy and investments projects, bringing focus and alignment among functional leads and Global Publishing teams.
  • Monitor performance metrics and ensure systems are in place to support real-time insights and implement continuous improvement strategies. Challenge operational leaders’ decisions to ensure they serve the best interests of the group and keep them accountable for processes, metrics, and outcomes.
  • Coordinate efforts to streamline workflows, achieve higher efficiency, and drive transformative outcomes by connecting individual teams and fostering creative solutions and ideas within the Global Publishing organization.
  • Overall, prioritize systems and data optimization as a foundation for enhanced coordination, mutualization, scalability, and continuous improvement in tools, metrics, and processes across the team.

2.    Financial Oversight:

  • Is accountable of the monitoring the Publishing financial performance, drive and challenge the financial decisions of the teams (overall profitability, cash vs. margin, sales vs. volume, ROI of investments, etc.) to ensure the financial value creation of the Published products within the group
  • Drives the Finance agenda within the Global Publishing business by leading key initiatives and priorities, ensuring Finance is a strong and active voice in decision-making. Represents Publishing and Supply Chain within group finance, advocating for thoughtful decisions around high-margin products. Proactively evaluates, considers, and shares the consolidation, tax, and financing impacts of business decisions, aligning closely with relevant expert teams to ensure informed outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a single source of truth for important financial metrics, spread the word of the value creation with the group by the Published products
  • Lead and manage the finance function of the Global Publishing division which includes the newly created Playtype Finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Ensure synchronization with monthly reporting across the Company.
  • Collaborate with Group Finance teams to build a high-performing, dynamic team known for excellence, driving continuous improvement in financial processes, controls, and systems.
  • Actively champion change management initiatives to prepare the Finance team for evolving business needs and opportunities.
  • Serve as a strong advocate for Publishing-specific priorities—such as development projects and manufacturing strategies—within the broader Finance organization, ensuring these needs are fully integrated and understood.
  • Participate in the governance of financial processes to ensure accuracy.Implement and animate group-wide projects to steer the business performance of Published products within the group

3.    Global Publishing Evolution and Investments:

  • Investigate, coordinate, and execute on Publishing acquisitions related to new IPs or Studios, ensuring the correct internal routes are taken for presentation, legal, and budget purposes.
  • Partner with business leaders in the strategic longer-term set-up and back-office integration of new acquisitions, providing ongoing support to ensure their alignment with the group’s strategic, operational, and financial objectives.
  • Identify and integrate emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices to keep the company at the forefront of innovation and ensure a competitive edge in the marketplace.
  • In collaboration with HR, cultivate and nurture leadership talent within the Global Publishing team to build a strong pipeline of future leaders and ensure long-term organizational success.

 

4.    Team Leadership:

  • Manage the Finance, Legal, and HR functions for Global Publishing, ensuring coordination with local and Group teams.
  • Guide high-performing teams. Be a strategic thinker, a natural motivator, and a skilled communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment. You will be responsible for driving results, fostering a positive culture, growing Finance and Publishing talent, and ensuring the successful execution of projects and objectives.

What are we looking for

Education and Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or Accounting is strongly preferred.

Financial Acumen:

  • Strong financial management skills, including extended technical financial skills (reporting, tax, IFRS, key financial processes of an ERP, consolidation, etc.) etc. forward-looking, understanding of business trends & metrics
  • Proven experience in all aspects of Finance with a deep understanding of financial processes and controls.
  • Data and Analytics: Ability to synchronize and manage data from various sources to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Operational Excellence:

  • Strong operational coordination skills, with a focus on driving efficiency and progressive outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convince and effectively collaborate with various functional leads and teams at all levels within Asmodee.
  • Strong presentation skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
