Job Description

Reporting to the VP of Marketing the Vendor Manager will oversee supplier relationships, drive business development, manage procurement processes, and handle administrative responsibilities to ensure Asmodee Canada’s operational and strategic success.

Role and Responsibilites

Vendor/Publisher Relationship Management:

  • Strategically seek, develop, maintain strong relationships with publishers, ensuring smooth and productive business practices.
  • Invest in long-term win-win relationships with publishers and the industry that support growth and collaboration.
  • Oversee communication with publishers regarding product launches, performance feedback, and strategic adjustments.
  • Identify and support opportunities for product line growth
  • Handle negotiations and resolve potential disputes to ensure a trusting partnership aligned with company objectives.
  • Supervise contractual relationships.
  • Attend industry events, to ensure an up-to-date knowledge of trends and to optimize face to face interactions with partners

Monitoring and Analysis of Financial KPIs:

  • Ensure precise tracking of product financial KPIs (margins, profitability, ROI) to optimize portfolio management.
  • Analyze product performance to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions.
  • Prepare analytical reports and recommendations to share with internal stakeholders and publishers.

Team Management and Continuous Improvement:

  • Develop a team that is focused on creating brand awareness and bringing product knowledge to all channels
  • Implement and refine product management methods and performance monitoring to ensure team efficiency and consistency.
  • Deploy advanced tools and analytical techniques to structure decision-making processes.
  • Critically assess current practices and propose continuous improvements.

Internal Coordination and Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and procurement teams to ensure optimal product coordination.
  • Share product information, performance insights and adjustment recommendations with internal departments to strengthen strategic alignment.
  • Act as a conduit between the vendors and the market to bring about innovative ideas to generate commercial success.

Qualifications and Skills

 Technical Skills:

  • University diploma in a related field
  • 6 years or more of experience in vendor management, purchasing, or a related field.
  • Expertise in management and analytical tracking, particularly in analyzing key financial indicators (margins, profitability, return on investment).
  • Advanced skills in Excel and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication in English and French to thrive in an international environment
  • In-depth knowledge of product management, portfolio management, and go-to-market processes.
  • A strong passion for board games, with a solid understanding of the industry, their mechanics and trends  (additional asset)

Managerial Skills:

  • 5 years or more experience in team management, with the ability to train and support the development of junior profiles.
  • Ability to develop and lead a team to support the growth and development opportunities
  • Excellent communication, guidance, and team motivation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach to structuring and optimizing processes.

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to collaborate effectively with publishers and studios.
  • Ability to build solid, long-lasting relationships with partners, ensure rigorous project follow-ups, and maximize their success.
