Job Summary
The Graphic Designer role is responsible for the graphic treatment of Z-Man, Office Dog and Unexpected Game’s various product lines and getting Studio games ready to be produced. Most of this position’s time will be spent working on products, but the role will also need to work with external artists/creatives to ensure a coherent vision for our products. The designer will work on product from early concepts and rough prototype visuals all the way through to final, polished graphics – supplying the Marketing team with logos, renders, and other visual assets necessary to produce marketing materials. Additionally, the designer will collate all final print files for production, ensuring a very high level of accuracy in all aspects.
What will your role involve
- Design and develop thematic elements, graphics, iconography, and text for tabletop game products and marketing materials.
- Create early development and rough-concept graphics for use in print and digital prototypes.
- Set up graphic assets for digital prototyping within Component Studio.
- Compile game assets into templates for prototype printing.
- Create intuitive and clear graphic elements to represent game mechanisms and translate ideas into working, playable products.
- Design packaging and game logos to engage and attract consumers to the products.
- Maintain a library of component templates, follow a set of standard organizational practices, and improve upon current processes.
- Get our games ready for press, with a very high level of accuracy.
- Proofing one’s own work, as well as other work done by the design team.
- Maintain good file management, versioning, and communication throughout.
- Diligently pursue completion of work to meet project deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Keep the Producer and Creative Director aware of progress and any potential issues that may arise in a timely manner.
- Playtest internal products and provide feedback to game developers/designers.

Position Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent creative design and visual skills
- Highly proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Strong understanding of the methodologies and procedures of print production processes.
- Strong understanding of the technical aspects of print production
- Tabletop gaming experience.
Bonus Qualifications:
- Ability to work in 3D programs and produce mockups and renders of game components
- Traditional art experience in digital illustration
- Familiarity with updating art assets in Component Studio or Tabletop Simulator
- UI / UX experience, strong understanding of the visual / iconic language of board games
Education/Experience
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, Visual Arts, or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- 5 or more years of Tabletop gaming Graphic Design experience.
- Experience with directing freelance artists.
- Experience in the hobby game market.
- Experience designing for print.
