Job Summary
The Licensing Director is responsible for driving growth of Asmodee’s licensing programs. They will manage the relationships with existing Licensor’s business leads, identify and pursue new strategic licensing opportunities, negotiate lucrative licensing deals, and support the ongoing development of Asmodee’s products in collaboration with cross-functional teams (i.e. Legal, Finance, Studio Operations, Product Approvals, Distribution Units, etc.).
What will your role involve
License Management
- Support VP of Global Licensing on planning and executing the global business strategy to achieve the company’s overall vision.
- Establish and strengthen relationships with counterparts at each of the Licensors and for Asmodee’s major licenses.
- Responsible for evaluating licensed opportunities and Licensor brands and providing recommendations and guidance to the Asmodee Studios and various business units, to maximize or expand Asmodee’s games globally.
- Analyze market trends, identify gaps, and provide insights with product recommendations to the Asmodee Studios.
- Lead contract proposals, renewals and negotiations with Licensors in conjunction with the internal Finance and Legal teams.
- Ensure that marketing initiatives from various internal divisions are handled in a timely manner and following Licensor approval processes/guidelines.
- Work with the Asmodee Distribution teams to navigate product sales and promotions globally.
- Oversee the merchandise licensing process for our localization partners.
Financial Oversight
- Collaborate with the Asmodee Studios and Finance to develop and manage the annual budget and quarterly forecast for top Licensors, then submit them to licensors via designated portals.
- Monitor quarterly revenue and contribute to Asmodee’s overall financial goals through strategic licensing initiatives.
- Lead Licensor audits internally and facilitate the communications/negotiations with Licensor and their Auditors.

- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of contract terms and revenue management.
- Thorough negotiation and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Working knowledge of key Licensors’ brands and a passion for games.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills across various internal teams and external partners globally.
- Proactive and resilient problem solver, adaptable to changes in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to travel domestically and globally on a regular basis and for extended periods if needed, to attend partner meetings, trade shows and events.
Knowledge & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience working with global Licensees or Licensors in the hardlines category (toys and/or gaming).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, market conditions and specific work location. Base Salary Range: $130,000-$140,000.
