Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Hobby Sales drives the success of the Hobby Sales and Toy & Gift Teams by providing expert guidance in forecasting, revenue projections, and the use of marketing activations, as well as special projects, E&O Sell-through and management of the Hobby Administration team. This is a highly visible role that supports all of inside sales through careful planning, data management, and innovation.

 

What will your role involve

Hobby and T&G Sales Team Support:

  • Manages Sales Admin team, providing regular communication, performance feedback and support for development and training;
  • Responsible for all product allocations within Hobby Sales and Toy & Gift;
  • Works with Hobby Specialist to enhance sales through retailer-targeted communications;
  • Sets periodic sales goals/individual sales goals for all Hobby Team members, and updates sales tracker;
  • Collaborates with Senior Account Managers and Director of Hobby on special projects and new ventures.

Forecasting:

  • Provides insight and data to 30/60/90 day forecasts;
  • Attends multiple forecasting meetings as required to represent Inside sales;
  • Owns revenue projections for Hobby Sales and Toy & Gift. 

Marketing and Events

  • Responsible for execution of all trade marketing sales activations, in partnership with Trade Marketing Manager.
  • Plans for GAMA, Pax Unplugged & GenCon in conjunction with Marketing and Events teams.
  • Works with the Vendor Relations team to provide insight into studio and product performance, as needed.

Meetings and presentations

  • Represents the Hobby Sales team in multiple meetings, at various levels within the company
  • Regularly presents sales data, trends and forecasts;
  • Tailors' communication to the audience to ensure information shared is clear and relevant.
  • Responsible for meeting preparation and follow-up.

Logistics Operations Liaison

  • Work closely with warehouse leaders on specific titles. Shares:
  • Arrival dates
  • Allocation plans
  • Shipment schedules (to ensure monthly goals are reached).

  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across teams and departments, ensuring alignment and seamless execution of sales objectives.
  • A strong ability to create accountability, empowering teams to meet and exceed performance expectations, while taking ownership of outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of sales training techniques;
  • Consistent track record of meeting and surpassing financial targets, with a strong focus on driving revenue growth and maximizing profitability through strategic sales management.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain positive, composed, and effective in high-pressure situations, adapting quickly to challenges while maintaining focus on long-term goals.
  • Ability and expertise in teams with varying levels of experience and skill, fostering a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with the ability to leverage these tools to streamline operations, present compelling reports, and analyze sales data.

 

Education/Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; 
  • Three to five years sales management experience with a significant portion related to inside or industry specific sales; and
  • At least five years of hobby gaming sales experience. Hobby channel experience and knowledge required.

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, market conditions and specific work location. Base Salary Range: $110,000-$115,000.
