Job Summary

The temporary Game Development Producer role coordinates projects for FFG’s various game development teams, while providing development support to the design teams they engage with. They are the hub of their projects and work with multiple people every day. The main responsibility of this position is to manage projects through development, overseeing them from concept to completion. This includes creating and maintaining project schedules and visions, leading playtesting and gathering player feedback, and engaging with a multitude of teams to ensure team awareness and on-time delivery of project milestones. The overarching goal of these activities being to continuously refine the project into one that is balanced, engaging, and within the budget and overall scope of the project.

 

What will your role involve

  • Manage multiple projects and their teams simultaneously and be able to clearly communicate their status to management. 
  • Coordinate and manage daily project meetings with various teams. 
  • Work closely with game designers, graphic designers, art directors, and others to ensure each project meets its deadlines while reaching its full potential. 
  • Ensure that budgets for assigned projects are within defined specifications.  
  • Work with Design Lead and External Designer to create/maintain a vision document for the project. Ensure final game products are aligned with that vision and the project’s budget, as well as the intellectual property involved when applicable.
  • Investigate the feasibility of game design ideas insofar as to how they might impact production and/or manufacturing. 
  • Ensure that sufficient project milestones are in place to meet planned deadlines. 
  • Provide documentation to other creative departments (Art, Graphic Design, Sculpting, etc.) using defined document procedures to detail what elements are required to support the game design and content. 
  • Communicate and deliver project needs to multiple teams across the studio and publisher, as well as licensors and other parties when applicable. 
  • Lead internal and external playtesting by providing all necessary test components, answering questions, collecting feedback, and analyzing it to improve the balance and usability of the game’s design, rules, and content.   
  • Collaborate with sculpting department staff to ensure the game’s plastic components are delivered to the Plastic Production team. 
  • Investigate the feasibility of game design ideas insofar as to how they might impact production and/or manufacturing. 
  • Prepare and submit files for final approval, relaying approval feedback to the rest of the team. 
  • Manage and organize all project files on a shared server so that others can easily find all files associated with a given project. 
  • Create final, print-ready game product layouts using Adobe InDesign.    
  • Other tasks and assignments as directed by management.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively and adapt to a changing landscape. 
  • Able to travel up to 10% of the time; sometimes with very little notice. 

 

Knowledge & Experience Requirements  

  • One to three years of experience in project management, technical writing, desktop publishing, or related experience. 
  • Prior experience in tabletop, video game, or board game production is a plus.

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, market conditions and specific work location. Base Houly Rate Range: $33.00-$35.00.
