Job Summary
The Senior Events Manager, Playtype, will report directly to the SVP of Playtype and will play a pivotal role in shaping and carrying out the strategy, execution, and evaluation of both Global and Playtype-specific events. This is a dynamic opportunity for a strategic, innovative leader with a deep expertise in event management, poised to develop and execute a high-impact event strategy tailored to their vertical. The Senior Manager will thrive in collaboration, organization, and communication, ensuring flawless event planning and execution that not only enhances the fan experience but also drives brand visibility, amplifies reach, and creates buzz through creative activations, social media engagement, influencer partnerships, and targeted PR initiatives.
The successful candidate for this role will be based out of either our French office or the US office, but the role is remote.
What will your role involve
Event Strategy and Vision:
- Partner with the SVP of Playtype to create a strong event strategy and ensure alignment between overall Playtype’s strategy and individual studio visions across all Global and Playtype-specific events.
- Ensure that the Playtype/Studios strategy, vision and requirements are dully deployed in each event
- Bring up fresh ideas with out-of-the-box thinking to source new shows and benchmark attendance to build a tailored approach (studios/market) to ensure attendance fits the demoed products
Budget Management:
- Assess the ressources and budget needs for Playtype specific events and participation to Global Events, challenge studios events budget and ensure budget coordination.
- Determine best use of budget and resources at all Playtype events in partnership with the SVP of Playtype.
Event Execution:
- Create Memorable Experiences: Design and execute engaging activations and experiences connected to our games and brands at both Playtype-specific and Global events.
- Lead and manage the strategy, organization, and execution of all Playtype specific events, including:
- Coordinating cross-functional teams (other Events team – Central, Local and other Playtype, marketing, communications, Studios, Distribution, partner agencies).
- Conducting regular status calls with stakeholders to ensure smooth event execution.
- Managing event budgets and ensuring financial accountability.
- Planning and managing project timelines with clearly defined milestones, ensuring all necessary steps are initiated on schedule to avoid costly last-minute decisions or compromises.
- Securing necessary resources to maximize event visibility and impact.
- Coordinating demo sessions and product presentations for Playtype and third-party studios.
- Partnering with Central Global Events support team as needs arise.
- Overseeing attendee management, including registration, access, and roles.
Global Event Execution:
- Partner with the Director of Global Events to execute Playtype’s strategy and vision at major global events (Spiel, Gen Con, and PAX West/Pax East or the like).
- Ensure the “on-the-ground” seamless execution of the Global Events for the studios of the Playtype
Analyze Event Success
- Collect and analyze event data to assess ROI and identify opportunities for improvement.
Team Leadership (as applicable):
- Lead and mentor a team of event professionals and support staff to ensure the successful planning, execution, and follow-up of Global and Playtype events.
- Cross Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Studios, vendors, and internal teams to ensure seamless event planning, execution, and post-event follow-up.
- Support Multiple Events: Manage approximately 10 events annually, traveling both domestically and internationally.

- On event days: ability to spend 10+ hours engaging in physical activity, including lifting, and moving boxes and items (up to 50 pounds) from storage to venue; setting up registration tables, displays, signage, disassembling and packing event materials.
- Comfortable working in high-stress environments, particularly during events.
- 7+ years of experience in event management or relevant experience.
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience in the entertainment, sports, or music industry is a plus. Experience in an event agency is highly valued.

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, market conditions and specific work location. Base Salary Range: $90k -$100k
